This calculator estimates the 3-year maturity payout of Korea's Youth Future Savings scheme (청년미래적금, launched 2026) and lists its eligibility criteria on the same screen. You pick a monthly deposit (up to ₩500,000), the standard or preferential type, and an interest rate of 5%, 7% or 8%; it then breaks the result into your own principal, the government contribution, tax-free interest, and the total payout. Your inputs are used for the calculation inside your browser only — nothing is sent to or stored on a server.

How much do you get after depositing ₩500,000 a month for 3 years?

With ₩500,000 a month for 3 years (36 months) at 8% on the standard type, this calculator estimates a maturity payout of about ₩21,300,000. That breaks down into ₩18,000,000 of your own principal, a ₩1,080,000 government contribution, and ₩2,220,000 of interest. Choosing the preferential type under the same conditions raises the contribution to ₩2,160,000, for roughly ₩22,380,000. Korea's Financial Services Commission published ₩21,380,000 (standard) and ₩22,550,000 (preferential) for the same case; this tool computes simple interest on your own deposits only, so the real payout can be slightly higher by the interest earned on the government contribution. Those published figures are shown on the calculator screen as well.

How large is the government contribution, and how do the two types differ?

The government matches 6% of each monthly deposit for the standard type and 12% for the preferential type. Depositing ₩500,000 a month for 36 months adds ₩1,080,000 (standard) or ₩2,160,000 (preferential) on top of your principal. At ₩300,000 a month the figures are ₩648,000 and ₩1,296,000. The 12% preferential match is aimed at low-income young people, and which type applies to you is decided by the participating institution's review. Interest income is tax-exempt, so the interest figure shown by the calculator carries no tax deduction.

Who is eligible for Korea's Youth Future Savings scheme?

The calculator's eligibility self-check lists three items — age 19 to 34 (military service of up to 6 years is excluded from the age count), comprehensive income of ₩63 million or less, and, for small-business owners, annual revenue of ₩300 million or less. As announced by the government in April 2026, the criteria were gross salary of ₩75 million or less (comprehensive income ₩63 million) or a small-business owner with revenue up to ₩300 million, plus household income at or below 200% of the median (150% for the preferential type); that last item is not part of the calculator's self-check. The tool only presents these items; it does not decide whether you qualify. Exact income ceilings and the preferential threshold are set through the institution's review, so confirm with the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency (KINFA).

Can you still apply, and what is the application schedule?

The first application round ran from 22 June to 3 July 2026 (weekdays only) and has closed; a second round is planned for December 2026. The scheme is designed to recruit participants twice a year, in June and December. Applications are accepted only online through a participating institution's app, with no paperwork to submit, and about 196,000 people applied on the launch day of 22 June alone. The banner at the top of the calculator shows a countdown before the first deadline and, afterwards, a note that round 1 has closed and round 2 is expected in December 2026. This tool does not accept applications.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the calculator's result differ from the official government figure?

Because this tool computes simple interest on your own deposits only. For ₩500,000 a month over 3 years at 8% on the standard type, the calculator shows about ₩21,300,000 while the Financial Services Commission published ₩21,380,000. The gap appears to be the interest accruing on the government contribution, which is left out because its accrual schedule is not published.

Which interest rate should I use?

The product pays a 5% base rate plus a bank bonus of 2–3 percentage points, so the calculator offers 5%, 7% and 8% as options. The rate is fixed for 3 years and bonus conditions differ by bank, so check the rate you would actually receive with the institution you plan to join.

Are the amounts I enter stored on a server?

No. Your deposit amount, type and rate selection are used for the calculation inside your browser and are never sent to a server. The tool collects no personal information.

Can this calculator tell me whether I qualify?

No. It lists the eligibility criteria but makes no determination about your case. Whether you can join, and your exact limit, are decided through the participating institution's review, so confirm with the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency.

What this tool does not do

This tool does not determine eligibility and does not accept applications. The maturity figure is an estimate based on simple, tax-free interest on your own deposits: it excludes interest earned on the government contribution and ignores the rate you would actually be offered, bank-specific bonus conditions, the household median-income requirement, and the outcome of any review. The amounts shown are for reference; the actual payout and whether you can join must be confirmed with the participating institution and the Korea Inclusive Finance Agency. Data sources are Financial Services Commission press releases and the Korean government Policy Briefing.
